This article focus on to confirm:
– The effect of different brucite percentage on the mechanical properties of brucite
– The effect of stearic acid surface coating on the mechanical properties of brucite
– The effect of different particle size on mechanical properties of brucite
.
Materials prepare:
XK-1250SA/9090: particle size D50 3-4micros, coated with stearic acid
XK-5000SA/9090: particle size D50 2-3micros, coated with stearic acid
XK-5000/9090: particle size D50 2-3micros, uncoated grade brucite
.
We designed three group test:
- The first group: XK-1250SA/9090 with 20%, 40%, 60% percentage in PVC formula.
- The second group: XK-5000SA/9090 and XK-5000/9090 compare.
- The third group: XK-1250SA/9090 and XK-5000SA/9090 compare.
.

The first group: XK-1250SA/9090 with 20%, 40%, 60% percentage in PVC formula.

Test result:
With the brucite percentage increase, the MFI decreases; 20% of the proportion has the best MFI, which is 4.8.
.
With the brucite percentage increase, the elongation at break decreases; the elongation at break of 20% brucite is the highest, which is 344%.
.
With the brucite percentage increase, the tensile strength decreases; the addition ratio of 20% brucite has the highest tensile strength, which is 19.15.
.
With the brucite percentage increase, the limiting oxygen index increases; the limiting oxygen index of 60% brucite is the highest, which is 31.2.

The second group: XK-5000SA/9090 and XK-5000/9090 compare.

2.1 As follows table we can see, when brucite adds percentage was 20%, MFI is same; Elongation at break (%) stearic acid coated grade is better; Tensile Strength (MPa) uncoated grade is better.

3.1 As follows table we can see, when add percentage was 20%, MFI XK-1250SA/9090 grade is better; Elongation at break (%) XK-5000SA/9090 grade is better; Tensile Strength (MPa) XK-5000SA/9090 is better.

3.2 As follows table we can see, when add percentage was40%, MFI XK-1250SA/9090 grade is better; Elongation at break (%) XK-5000SA/9090 grade is better; Tensile Strength (MPa) XK-5000SA/9090 is better.

Conclusion and discussion
The effect of different brucite percentage on the mechanical properties of brucite

With the increase of adding proportion of Brucite, MFI, elongation at break, tensile strength and LOI increase.
